newy.com.au – Robbie Williams will bring his BRITPOP World Tour to McDonald Jones Stadium on Tuesday 17 November 2026, giving Newcastle the only non-capital city stop on the Australian leg and adding another global act to the city’s growing stadium concert calendar.

The concert is Newcastle’s latest major-events coup, following confirmations in recent weeks that Foo Fighters will play the venue on 12 November and Guns N’ Roses on 8 December. It means three major international acts will play McDonald Jones Stadium within less than a month.

Frontier Touring said the Newcastle date would be Williams’ first at McDonald Jones Stadium. Based on the tour dates released for Australia and New Zealand, Newcastle is the only non-capital city on the Australian run, alongside shows in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane before the tour heads to Auckland and Christchurch.

The booking is another sign of Newcastle’s rising status as a stadium market for international touring acts. City of Newcastle says its venue partnership with Venues NSW has helped attract more than half a million people and about $65 million into the local economy since 2022 through major events including Elton John, Paul McCartney and Women’s State of Origin. McCartney’s 2023 concert alone drew almost 30,000 fans and was estimated to inject $9 million into the local economy.

The NSW Government said Robbie Williams’ appearance, combined with the opening of Newcastle International Airport and a run of headline concerts, was helping drive the region’s visitor economy, support local business and create jobs. As part of the promotion, City of Newcastle lifeguards will rename Nobbys Beach to Robbie’s Beach for the day.

Williams said Australia and New Zealand had long held a special place for him and that he was excited to return in November. The tour follows the release of BRITPOP, his 13th studio album, on 16 January 2026. The album features collaborators including Chris Martin, Gaz Coombes, Tony Iommi, Jesse & Joy and Gary Barlow, and became Williams’ 16th UK number one album.

“This isn’t just about amazing gigs for locals. It’s about pumping money into our economy, supporting local businesses and putting our city on the global map.

“We can’t wait to welcome Robbie to our home and show the world why Newcastle is our state’s best-kept secret.”

Minister for Sport and Tourism Steve Kamper said: “Robbie Williams has dazzled crowds all over the world for years and now it’s Newcastle’s turn to be entertained by pop royalty.

“Robbie, Foo Fighters and Guns N’ Roses in Newcastle’s backyard – all landing in Newcastle this year reinforces the Hunter’s rapid rise as one of Australia’s premier regional event destinations, with major global acts choosing the harbour city for headline shows alongside major international capitals.”

Councillor Peta Winney-Baartz, City of Newcastle’s representative on the Venues NSW Hunter Advisory Committee, said the announcement was “a historic moment for Newcastle, signalling the strength of our credentials as a major events destination to promoters and visitors from across the country and around the globe”.

For fans, ticketing will open with a Telstra presale from 1pm local time on Friday 20 March, followed by Frontier member and artist presales from 1pm on Monday 23 March, and a general public sale from 2pm on Thursday 26 March through Ticketmaster. The Newcastle concert is licensed all ages, limited to six tickets per purchaser, with standard tickets priced from $119.90 to $299.90 and VIP packages from $499.90 to $699.90 before additional fees.

With hits including Angels, Let Me Entertain You, Feel, Rock DJ and Better Man, Williams’ Newcastle date adds another marquee name to a venue that has rapidly built a national reputation for landing big shows once considered out of reach for a regional city.
