Overnight roadwork to change traffic conditions at Wallsend this weekend

newy.com.au – Motorists are being advised of changed overnight traffic conditions at multiple locations in Wallsend this weekend, including Lake Road, Thomas Street and Newcastle Road, for maintenance work.

The City of Newcastle will carry out the work on behalf of Transport for NSW, including road resurfacing.

The work is scheduled from 8pm to 5am on Sunday 22 March and is expected to be completed in one night, weather permitting.

Traffic control, single-lane closures, alternating stop/slow arrangements and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists. Oversize and overmass operators are being advised to call ahead on UHF channel 21 to be escorted through the site.
