Overnight Main Road detour at Glendale for resurfacing work

newy.com.au – Motorists will face changed overnight traffic conditions on Main Road at Glendale on Wednesday night as maintenance work, including asphalt resurfacing, is carried out between Frederick Street and Lake Road.

Lake Macquarie City Council will undertake the work on behalf of Transport for NSW from 8pm on Wednesday 18 March to 5am on Thursday 19 March. The work is expected to be completed in one night, weather permitting.

A detour will be in place for eastbound traffic on Main Road via Frederick Street and Lake Road. Emergency services, buses, trucks and residents within the work area will still be able to travel through the site under traffic control instructions.

Traffic control measures will include a single lane closure, alternating stop-slow arrangements and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h while the work is carried out.

Transport for NSW has advised that vehicles travelling under a permit must not leave the approved route listed in the permit unless an updated permit is obtained from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator. Over Size and Over Mass operators have been told to call ahead on UHF channel 21 to be escorted through the site.
