Fire Alarm Evacuates Thornton Hotel Guests

newy.com.au – Guests staying at the Thornton Executive Hotel on Weakleys Drive at Thornton were evacuated about 11pm after a fire alarm was activated at the premises.

Fire and Rescue NSW crews attended the hotel, which is located opposite a KFC restaurant, to investigate the source of the alarm and ensure the safety of those inside.

Emergency services assessed the building and worked to identify where the smoke had originated. After spending some time on site, crews determined the smoke was coming from an exhaust system.

There were no reports of injuries and the situation was contained without further incident.

At about midnight, guests were given the all clear and allowed to return to their rooms.
