newy.com.au – Detectives are appealing for information following three separate home invasions and assaults at a unit block on Fowler Street in Hamilton South. Three people were injured between 30 January 2026 and 2 February 2026.
New South Wales Police Force said officers from the Newcastle City Police District had established Strike Force Arnstone to investigate the incidents and any potential links between them.
The first reported attack occurred early on Friday 30 January, when a 26-year-old woman was asleep inside a unit and was assaulted by an unknown person. Investigators said she suffered deep cuts to her face and hand, believed to have been caused by a large bladed weapon.
The woman sought treatment at John Hunter Hospital the following day and police inquiries began after she presented for care. Police said she had not yet provided a statement.
Later that same day, police said emergency services were called about 8pm to a unit in the same building following reports of a home invasion. Officers were told a 44-year-old man was assaulted and robbed by three men armed with edged weapons, with cash and property stolen from the unit.
The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment of lacerations and bruising, police said.
A third callout was made about 10.20pm on Monday, when emergency services were again called to the same unit complex after reports a man had been injured by an unknown person, police said. At the scene, officers located a 32-year-old man with lacerations to his back and head, which police said were consistent with a large bladed weapon.
The 32-year-old was taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment of serious injuries as detectives continued inquiries into the three incidents.
Anyone with information has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
