newy.com.au – A woman believed to be aged 35 has died after a single-vehicle crash on The Bucketts Way at Limeburners Creek in Port Stephens late on Sunday 14 December 2025.
Police from the Port Stephens-Hunter Police District found a 36-year-old man on the side of the road about 10.30pm while patrolling the area, after being told his vehicle had crashed nearby.
Officers later located the vehicle, which had left the road and hit a tree near Limeburners Creek, about 12km east of Clarence Town. The woman was found dead inside the vehicle and could not be revived, with formal identification still underway.
The driver was taken to John Hunter Hospital for assessment and mandatory testing, police said, as investigators began examining the circumstances of the crash.
Police said anyone with information or dashcam footage should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, with information treated in strict confidence.
