newy.com.au – A Hunter Valley man has been arrested and charged over a series of alleged domestic violence offences in the Sydney suburb of Gregory Hills. Police say the charges follow an investigation by the Hunter Domestic Violence High Risk Offender Team and Camden Police Area Command.

Authorities allege that on 27 July 2025, the man pushed a woman known to him into a wall and threatened her with a knife. Police launched inquiries to locate the suspect, who was found at a motel in Fern Bay, Port Stephens, about 7am on 6 August 2025.

The 42-year-old was taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station and charged with 18 offences, including six counts of common assault – domestic violence, three counts of stalking or intimidating with intent to cause fear of physical harm, three counts of contravening a prohibition or restriction in an apprehended violence order, armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, installing or using a tracking device without consent, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm – domestic violence, and two counts of intentionally choking without consent.

He was refused bail and appeared before Bail Division Court 2 on 6 August 2025, where bail was again formally denied. The man is scheduled to face Campbelltown Local Court on 12 August 2025.
