newy.com.au – Motorists travelling through Rutherford are being warned of upcoming overnight roadworks on the New England Highway, with maintenance scheduled to run from 24 July to 1 August 2025.
Transport for NSW will carry out asphalt patching between Dunkley Street and Arthur Street, including the section at Alexandra Avenue, from 6pm to 6am each night. The roadworks will affect southbound traffic, with alternating stop-slow traffic control in place to allow vehicles to pass in one direction at a time.
A reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will apply throughout the work zone, and traffic controllers will be on site to assist with vehicle flow. Drivers should allow an additional five minutes of travel time and are advised to exercise caution and follow all posted signs and directions.
The work is part of essential maintenance on the state road network, subject to weather conditions. Transport for NSW has thanked road users for their patience during the project.
