newy.com.au – A 28-year-old woman has been charged over a series of alleged property offences committed across the Hunter Region between late May and mid-July.
Police launched an investigation on 30 May 2025 following reports that a bank card had been stolen from a vehicle parked on Lake Road in Argenton. It is alleged the stolen card was subsequently used to make unauthorised purchases at electronics and sporting goods retailers.
Between 1 June and 19 July 2025, further alleged incidents of stealing and property-related offences were reported in the Lake Macquarie and Rutherford areas. Police believe these incidents were connected.
Following inquiries by Port Stephens-Hunter Police, the woman was arrested at Maitland Police Station about 7.30pm on 21 July. She was charged with 12 offences, including three counts of dishonestly obtaining property by deception, three counts of entering a vehicle or boat without the owner’s consent, larceny involving property valued between $5,000 and $15,000, entering enclosed land without lawful excuse, three additional counts of larceny, and breach of bail.
She was refused bail and appeared in Bail Division Court 2 on 22 July, where bail was again formally denied. She is scheduled to appear before Maitland Local Court on Wednesday 23 July 2025.
