This morning at 10:30am, Newcastle Harbour hosted a ceremonial display to welcome the arrival of a brand-new tug , the Svitzer Barrington, named after the Barrington Tops. It’s the first of its kind for the Newcastle fleet.
Eight tugs formed a guard of honour on the water, with two spraying water from their firefighting cannons as the Barrington passed through. The display continued with a circular ‘clock’ formation, where the Barrington moved into the centre and performed a full 360-degree spin.

Another new tug, the Svitzer Nobbys, is due to arrive in August.
