Woman fighting for life after car crashes into Glendale bus shelter
A woman is in a critical condition after a car ploughed into a bus shelter in Glendale on Friday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Main Road about 4pm on 16 May, following reports a Holden Commodore sedan had struck a bus shelter where the woman had been waiting.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 28-year-old woman at the scene before transporting her to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
The 25-year-old male driver was also taken to John Hunter Hospital for mandatory testing.
Police from the Lake Macquarie Police District established a crime scene, with specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit examining the area.
Early inquiries suggest the woman was inside the shelter at the time of the crash.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
