newy.com.au – An 80-year-old man has died after being struck by a car in Valentine, Lake Macquarie, early this morning.
Emergency services were called to Croudace Bay Road around 6:30 am on Wednesday, 19 March 2025, following reports of a pedestrian crash. NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the injured man at the scene before transporting him to John Hunter Hospital, where he later passed away.
The driver of the vehicle, a 77-year-old man, was taken to Belmont Hospital for mandatory testing.
A crime scene was established, with officers from the Lake Macquarie Police District investigating the circumstances of the incident.
Authorities are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
