newy.com.au – A man has been charged after a high-speed pursuit through the Hunter Valley earlier today, which ended with his arrest in Cameron Park.

The incident unfolded around 8:50 am on Wednesday, 26 February 2025, when Highway Patrol officers detected a vehicle allegedly exceeding the speed limit on Majors Lane in Lovedale. When officers attempted to pull the driver over, he allegedly failed to stop, prompting police to initiate a pursuit.

The chase continued along the Hunter Expressway before road spikes were deployed near Cameron Park, successfully bringing the vehicle to a stop. A 24-year-old man was then arrested at the scene and taken to Cessnock Police Station.

He has been charged with multiple offences, including failing to comply with police directions, negligent driving, and exceeding the speed limit by more than 30 km/h. His licence was suspended, and he was issued a court attendance notice to appear before Cessnock Local Court on Wednesday, 12 March 2025.
