newy.com.au – Two men have been charged with property-related offences following an incident in Adamstown Heights on Monday night, 24 February 2025.
Police were called to Lucas Crescent around 9:45pm after reports of suspicious activity near a home and a parked vehicle. The occupants of the house allegedly spotted two men on their property and pursued them towards Hudson Park, where they came to a stop.
Officers from Newcastle City Police District arrived a short time later and conducted a search of one of the men, allegedly uncovering housebreaking implements.
The two men, aged 19 and 21, were arrested and taken to Newcastle Police Station. The younger man was charged with larceny and unlawfully entering enclosed land, while the older man was charged with possessing housebreaking implements and entering enclosed land without a lawful excuse.
Both men were refused bail and are set to face Newcastle Local Court today, Tuesday 25 February 2025.
