A 34-year-old man is set to face court after police allegedly discovered a package containing over 250 grams of methylamphetamine hidden in his pants during a routine traffic stop in Wallsend.
At around 2am on Sunday, 9 February 2025, officers from the Newcastle City Police District pulled over a utility on Lowrey Lane after noticing it swerving on the road. During their inspection, police allegedly found a package of illicit drugs concealed in the pants of the vehicle’s front passenger. Authorities estimate the drugs to have a street value of approximately $400,000.
The man reportedly attempted to flee the scene but was quickly apprehended and taken to Waratah Police Station. He has since been charged with supplying a prohibited drug in a quantity exceeding the commercial threshold.
