Police Investigate Early Morning Shooting in Elermore Vale
An investigation has been launched after shots were fired at a residential property in Newcastle in the early hours of Wednesday, 29 January 2025. Newy.com.au believes this may be a targeted attack.
Around 4:30am, police were alerted to reports of gunfire on Lake Road, Elermore Vale. Officers from Newcastle City Police District arrived at the scene to find the front of a house and a vehicle damaged by projectiles. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Specialist police conducted a detailed examination of the crime scene, while Newcastle City Detectives commenced an investigation into the incident. Early inquiries indicate that the shooting was targeted, and authorities have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat.
Lake Road has since reopened, and traffic flow remains unaffected. Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, with assurances of confidentiality.
