A 21-year-old man is set to appear in court after an incident involving a crash outside Raymond Terrace Police Station.
Around 8:45 am on Thursday, 31 October 2024, officers from the Port Stephens-Hunter Police District responded to reports of a vehicle colliding with a parked police car outside the station. The driver, who allegedly caused the crash, then walked into the police station to report it himself.
Following the crash, the man was arrested and charged with two counts of driving recklessly or dangerously and one count of destroying or damaging property.
Authorities claim the driver was involved in another dangerous driving incident earlier that morning at around 8:30 am on Nelson Bay Road, Fern Bay.
The man was denied bail and is scheduled to face Raymond Terrace Local Court today, Friday, 1 November 2024.
