A Toronto man is celebrating a sudden windfall after buying his very first Friday ticket in the Weekday Windfall lottery, which landed him a division one prize worth $1 million. The Lake Macquarie resident held the only winning ticket for Weekday Windfall draw 4460, held on Friday, 25 October 2024.
“This changes everything,” the man shared in astonishment after his win was confirmed by The Lott. “I checked the ticket on Friday night and initially thought, ‘I’ve got three numbers… then four… then five… and finally, wow, all six!’”
Excited, he immediately called a friend to share the news. “At first, she didn’t believe me,” he recalled with a chuckle. “I ended up taking a photo of the ticket and sending it to her.”
This unexpected win came after a spontaneous decision. “I was doing some shopping at Priceline, and something told me to get a ticket for the Friday draw,” he explained. “Usually, I only play on Mondays or Wednesdays.”
The winning ticket—a QuickPick entry—was purchased at Priceline Pharmacy Toronto, located at Shop 14, Toronto Town Square on 63 The Boulevard.
With his newfound fortune, the winner plans to enjoy a more comfortable retirement, though he admits he’ll still indulge in the occasional lottery ticket. “I’ve struggled all my life, so this couldn’t have come at a better time. It goes to show—if you don’t have a ticket, you don’t stand a chance!”
The winning numbers for the 25 October 2024 Weekday Windfall draw were 30, 12, 43, 41, 2, and 39, with supplementary numbers 25 and 26. The Lott confirmed this as the only division one win in New South Wales for the draw.
So far in 2024, The Lott’s division one prize count has hit 374, with 107 of those prizes going to NSW Lotteries players. Weekday Windfall, formerly known as the Monday & Wednesday Lotto, has already made 98 millionaires this financial year across Australia, awarding a total of $107 million to winners nationwide.
