Emergency services were called to Awabakal Drive in Fletcher on the afternoon of Saturday, 19 October 2024, after reports of a two-car crash. Fire and Rescue NSW Station 484 Wallsend were among the first responders at the scene.
The incident occurred around 2:30pm when a black Nissan X-Trail collided with a parked silver Hyundai hatchback, leaving both vehicles damaged. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. The driver of the Nissan was assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene but did not require hospitalisation.
Fire and Rescue crews worked quickly to ensure the area was safe, clearing debris from the roadway and assisting with the removal of the vehicles. Traffic was temporarily affected in the area until the scene was cleared later that afternoon.
Local authorities are reminding drivers to stay vigilant and adhere to speed limits, especially in residential areas like Fletcher.
