Drugs and Cash Seized During Morisset Traffic Stop

A routine vehicle stop in Morisset early this morning has led to the discovery of a significant quantity of drugs and cash, resulting in the arrest of two individuals.

Around 1:00 am on Friday, 4 October 2024, officers from Lake Macquarie Police were conducting patrols along Alliance Avenue when they pulled over a white Toyota Camry. The vehicle was allegedly driven by a 30-year-old man who was disqualified from driving.

A search of the car allegedly uncovered a range of illegal substances, including half a litre of liquid methamphetamine, crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, cannabis, and a notable amount of cash.

Both the driver and his 27-year-old female passenger were arrested and taken to Toronto Police Station. The male has been charged with two counts of possessing prohibited drugs and one count of driving while disqualified.

The female passenger faces charges including supplying a prohibited drug, recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime, possessing prohibited drugs, and carrying a knife in a public place.

Both individuals have been refused bail and are set to appear in Toronto Local Court today, Friday, 4 October 2024.

The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to investigate the origin of the drugs and the intended distribution channels. Community members are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to Crime Stoppers.
