Newcastle’s Lord Mayor is celebrating not only his new leadership of the city but also a special personal milestone, the birth of his new grandson, Atlas. Baby Atlas arrived at 8:24am today, bringing immense joy to the Mayor and his family.

Although the Mayor’s role is one of civic responsibility, he remarked that no honour compares to the joy of becoming a grandad. This happy news comes after the Mayor assumed office earlier this year, adding a new chapter to both his public and family life.

Social media has been flooded with congratulatory messages. Councillor Mark Brooker of Ward 3, City of Newcastle, shared, “Congratulations Ross, Marion and family,” while Jean Jensen commented, “Years of joy ahead.” Another heartwarming message came from Ted Carter, who said, “Congratulations Mayor Ross and lady Mayoress Marion! Young Atlas is a lucky Grandson (even though he doesn’t know it yet).”
