Newcastle Permanent’s much-loved Cinema Under the Stars is making a return to Maitland and Lake Macquarie this October, offering families a night of entertainment under the evening sky.
The free community event will feature the highly anticipated film Wonka (PG, 2023), a delightful adventure perfect for viewers of all ages. Set in the scenic parks of Maitland and Lake Macquarie, the event promises more than just a movie, with live music, roving performances, delicious food stalls, and even free popcorn.
Paul Juergens, Chief Distribution Officer at Newcastle Permanent, shared his enthusiasm about this year’s outdoor cinema experience.
“Cinema Under the Stars has become a staple event for families across the Hunter. It’s great to see so many people coming together each year to enjoy a night of fun and entertainment,” Juergens said. “This year’s film choice, Wonka, is bound to stir up plenty of excitement with its sweet storyline and memorable tunes, new and old.”
Activities will kick off at 5.30pm, allowing plenty of time for children to engage in fun games and enjoy the lively atmosphere before the film begins at sundown.
“We encourage everyone to grab their favourite snacks, bring a picnic rug, and spend a magical evening with loved ones in some of our most beautiful local parks,” Juergens added.
The Cinema Under the Stars program is completely alcohol-free, ensuring a safe, family-friendly environment for all attendees.
