Two Men Charged Over Alleged Home Invasion in Macquarie Hills

Two men have been charged following an alleged home invasion in Macquarie Hills early yesterday morning.

At approximately 3:30am on Monday, 30 September 2024, two men allegedly forced entry into a home, assaulting the occupants, a 34-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man. According to police, the intruders attacked the pair with a knife shortly after entering the residence.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the male occupant at the scene for a stab wound to his shoulder before transporting him to hospital. Fortunately, his injuries are not considered life-threatening. The woman suffered minor injuries and received medical attention at the scene.

Police from Lake Macquarie Police District responded and established a crime scene. Investigators promptly commenced inquiries, leading to the arrest of two men, aged 27 and 28, later in the day.

Both men were taken into custody at Toronto Police Station and charged with multiple offences, including entering a building with intent to commit an indictable offence and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company.

They have been refused bail and are scheduled to appear at Belmont Local Court on Tuesday, 1 October 2024.
