Maitland City Council is calling on local seniors to share their ideas and contribute to the 2025 Maitland Seniors Festival, set to take place from Monday, 3 March to Sunday, 16 March 2025. Themed ‘Time to Shine’, the festival will highlight the important role seniors play in the community and celebrate their achievements.
Seniors are encouraged to participate in a survey available on the Maitland Your Say website, where they can offer feedback on the activities and events they’d like to see included. This initiative allows seniors to have a direct impact on the festival’s design, ensuring it caters to their interests and needs.
“The 2025 Maitland Seniors Festival is all about recognising the contributions of our senior community members,” said Whitney Hainey, Maitland City Council’s Coordinator of Community and Recreation Planning. “We’re eager to hear from them about what would make the festival truly special.”
With a focus on promoting social inclusion and wellbeing, the festival is part of a broader celebration across New South Wales. In 2024, music-themed events were especially popular, and the council hopes to build on that success in the upcoming festival.
The survey will remain open from Friday, 27 September to Thursday, 24 October 2024, allowing ample time for feedback. Seniors can also contact the Community Planning Team directly to provide suggestions.
For more information or to take part, visit the Maitland Your Say website or call 02 4934 9700.
