Man in Critical Condition After Car Collides with Pole in Boat Harbour near Nelson Bay

A 60-year-old man is fighting for his life after his vehicle collided with a power pole on Blanch Street, Boat Harbour, earlier today. Emergency services were alerted to the scene shortly after midday, following reports of a serious crash.

Upon arrival, paramedics discovered the man in cardiac arrest, prompting immediate resuscitation efforts. It is suspected the driver may have experienced a medical episode either just before or during the collision. The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to provide additional medical support, with paramedics continuing life-saving procedures on-site.

Police have closed Blanch Street as they investigate the circumstances of the incident and allow paramedics and other emergency workers to attend to the situation without interference. Motorists are advised to steer clear of the area, and locals have been asked to remain indoors as the helicopter lands and emergency services continue their work.
