Local seniors are set to experience a spectacular festive celebration this year, with two free NSW Seniors Christmas Concerts scheduled for Thursday, 12 December 2024 at the Performance Arts Culture Cessnock (PACC). The concerts, which will be held at 10am and 1pm, will feature an impressive line-up of performers, including stars from The Voice and musical theatre.

Among the headliners are Amy Lehpamer from the hit musical & Juliet, Arlo Sims, Liz Player, Emily Kate, and Will Skarpona from the Conservatorium of Music. These talented artists are set to bring joy and seasonal cheer, performing classic Christmas tunes sure to have the audience singing along.

Minister for Seniors Jodie Harrison expressed her excitement about the concerts returning to regional NSW, noting the importance of celebrating the contributions of seniors. “These concerts are a way for us to say thank you. They’re free, they’re festive, and they’re sure to get everyone in the holiday spirit,” Minister Harrison said.

The NSW Government, through initiatives such as these concerts, continues to honour seniors across the state, providing opportunities for social connection and recognition of their contributions to the community. Cessnock is one of three locations hosting the concerts this year, alongside Broken Hill and Moree.

Clayton Barr, Member for Cessnock, encouraged local seniors to take advantage of this opportunity. “The NSW Seniors Christmas Concerts are a wonderful way to spread Christmas cheer and celebrate together. I urge all seniors to apply for tickets and enjoy a spectacular show,” Barr said.

Will Skarpona, one of the performers, echoed this sentiment, saying, “We’ve got a fantastic line-up, and we’re ready to bring festive joy to Cessnock. It’s time to shine, and we can’t wait to see you all there.”

Tickets will be available from Tuesday, 15 October 2024, and are expected to be in high demand. For more details on how to secure your spot, visit seniorsfestival.info/christmasconcerts.

Cessnock’s seniors are sure to be treated to a memorable and festive day, full of music and Christmas cheer, as they come together to celebrate the joy of the holiday season.
