today20 September 2024

Background

Drivers should be aware of upcoming traffic changes next week as work continues on the M1 extension to Raymond Terrace.

To minimise disruption, the eastbound off-ramp from the New England Highway to Anderson Drive will be closed overnight on Monday 23 September between 7pm and 5am, weather permitting.

A detour will be in place during these hours via New England Highway/Maitland Road.

Major construction will continue Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm, and Saturday from 8am to 5pm. Night work will also take place from 7pm to 5am Monday to Friday.

Additionally, lane closures, intermittent stoppages, and reduced speeds of 40km/h will occur at the following locations:

From 7pm to 5am, Monday 23 September to Friday 27 September:

  • M1 Pacific Motorway at Beresfield and Black Hill
  • John Renshaw Drive at Beresfield
  • New England Highway at Tarro
  • Pacific Highway at Tomago and Heatherbrae
  • Old Punt Road near Pacific Highway at Tomago

From 7am to 5pm, Monday 23 September to Friday 27 September:

  • Lenaghans Drive at Black Hill
  • Old Punt Road near Pacific Highway at Tomago

Operators of oversized or overmass vehicles wider than 3.2 metres or 4.5 metres overall are asked to contact the project team at 0423 323 946 at least 24 hours before travelling to avoid delays. Vehicles under permit must adhere to the approved route unless an updated permit is obtained from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator.

Motorists should allow extra time for their journey and follow all signs and directions from traffic controllers. Transport for NSW appreciates drivers’ patience during this work.
