
A 60-year-old woman has been charged with multiple firearm and drug offences following a police search at her Dora Creek home on Wednesday, 11 September 2024.
Officers from the Lake Macquarie Police District executed a search warrant at the woman’s Dora Street residence at approximately 8.30am. During the search, police allege that two firearms were discovered, including a double-barrel shotgun and an air-rifle. In addition, police say they found a quantity of ammunition, cannabis, and firecrackers at the scene.
The woman was arrested and taken to Toronto Police Station, where she was charged with the following offences:
- Supply cannabis
- Unauthorised person fail to surrender firearm
- Two counts of not keeping a firearm safely
- Possessing an unauthorised firearm
- Possessing ammunition
- Handling explosives without a licence
Following her arrest, the woman was refused bail and appeared in Toronto Local Court. She was subsequently granted conditional bail and is scheduled to reappear in court on 1 October 2024.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
