Man Charged Over Alleged Commercial Drug Supply in Port Stephens

A 28-year-old man is set to face court today following his arrest during an investigation into the commercial supply of illicit drugs in Port Stephens.

Police from the Hunter Region Enforcement Squad, supported by the Port Stephens-Hunter Police District, conducted a search at a property on Wirreanda Road, Medowie, around 11am yesterday (Wednesday, 14 August 2024) as part of ongoing inquiries into drug supply activities in the region.

The man was apprehended at the scene and taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station, where he was charged with 22 offences, including:

  • Ten counts of supplying a prohibited drug (greater than indictable but less than commercial quantity),
  • Six counts of supplying a prohibited drug (greater than or equal to commercial quantity),
  • Three counts of driving a motor vehicle while disqualified,
  • Supplying a prohibited drug (greater than small but less than indictable quantity),
  • Supplying prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, and
  • Dealing with property suspected to be proceeds of crime.

He was refused bail and is scheduled to appear at Raymond Terrace Local Court today (Thursday, 15 August 2024).

Investigations into the supply of illicit drugs in Port Stephens are ongoing, with authorities continuing their efforts to target drug-related activities in the region.
