Motor Vehicle Accident in Pokolbin: Emergency Services Respond
At approximately 3:25 pm this afternoon, emergency services were called to a motor vehicle collision in Pokolbin, near Cessnock. The Cessnock Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA) reported that two vehicles were involved in the incident.
Upon arrival, one person remained in one of the vehicles. Although not trapped, the individual was receiving treatment from medical personnel on-site. As a precaution, VRA volunteers secured a restraint over an un-deployed airbag before assisting NSW Ambulance with the safe extraction of the person from the vehicle.
The occupants of both vehicles were assessed at the scene, with some transported to hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
NSW Police Force and NSW Rural Fire Service were also present at the scene, providing additional support during the incident.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
