Newcastle, NSW – The New South Wales Police Force (NSWPF) is making it more convenient than ever for Novocastrians to join their ranks without having to leave their beloved city.

Becoming a police officer is a noble pursuit, but the prospect of moving away from home can be daunting, especially for those with families or strong ties to Newcastle. The good news is that when you join the NSW Police Force, you can indicate your preferred work location, such as Newcastle, providing greater certainty about your placement upon becoming a police officer.

The NSWPF is committed to allowing new recruits to start their careers without uprooting their lives. As long as there are no operational restrictions, you can remain connected with your community and continue living in your hometown.

While placements are dependent on operational needs and availability, the ability to know where you will be working from the start is a significant advantage. This initiative is part of NSWPF’s effort to maintain a strong local presence and ensure that the police force remains closely tied to the communities they serve.

To learn more and meet some of our local police and recruitment officers, come along to the 2024 Apprenticeship/Trainee & Jobs Expo. Entry is free, and you can register your interest to work in Newcastle in person.

  • When: 3pm – 7pm, Tuesday, 20 August 2024
  • Where: NEX – Newcastle Exhibition & Convention Centre, Newcastle West

For more information on NSWPF recruitment, visit the NSW Police Recruitment website or check out the event details on Facebook.

Joining the NSW Police Force offers an incredible opportunity to serve your community while staying close to home.
