A fatal two-vehicle crash in the Hunter Region has claimed the life of a man.
At approximately 3:50 PM today, emergency services were called to Cessnock Road, Cliftleigh, following reports of a collision between a car and a truck.
The driver of the car, a 31-year-old man, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The truck driver, believed to be in his 40s, was transported to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Officers from the Port Stephens-Hunter Police District have established a crime scene. Specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit will conduct a forensic examination.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
