Search and Rescue Operations Continue Over Swansea Following Boating Accident

today15 July 2024

Background

SWANSEA – Search and rescue operations are ongoing in Swansea following a boating accident that resulted in the disappearance of Lake Macquarie man, Luke Smith. The search, which had been scaled back earlier, has been intensified today with the deployment of POLAIR and four boats focusing their efforts near the Swansea Caravan Park.

The search teams have been present in the area for several hours, combing the waters in hopes of finding any sign of Mr. Smith. Despite the earlier reduction in search activities, the renewed efforts underscore the commitment to locating the missing man.

Residents and visitors to the area are advised to stay clear of the search zones to allow rescue teams to perform their duties. The community remains hopeful for positive news, and any updates on the situation will be shared here.
