Newcastle, this is your weekend, my name is Alex, I am outside Lizotte’s Lambton where Andy Bull will be performing this Friday as a part of his 2014 national tour. He willbe performing songs from his latest EP, `Broken Lines`.

Also, on Friday and Saturday the Civic Theatre will host the brand new 2014 Circus Oz. The show will feature an astonishing mix of acrobatics, juggling, unicycling. It is described as punchy, exciting and very funny.

Also on Friday and Saturday, Lifeline will be holding their `Annual Bookfest` at the Broadmeadow Basketball Stadium with all profits directly supporting Lifeline’s counseling services.

And on Saturday, Our Lady of Victories Primary School at Shortland will hold a Trash and Treasure sale where you will find a heap of donated items, a Piano, cake stall, a Taekwondo demonstration and heaps more.

And the Hunter Street Mall will come to life this Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday as it hosts the Organic Markets. There you will find a range of certified Fruit and Vegetables, amazing flowers, arts and crafts, free range produce and grass fed beef. and on Saturday and Sunday Maitland Gaol will host the Postie Bikes Australia Nationals, including a show and shine, a dyno shoot out, a poker run cruise and a presentation ceremony.

Checking the Real NRL, Cessnock will take on South at Townsend Oval for the preliminary final, if you can’t make it to the game, watch the live stream on the Hunter TV website thanks to BLIVE.

Checking the weather this weekend, it’s looking promising, a slight chance of a shower on Saturday top of 18 and mostly sunny Sunday with a top of 21.

And finally, finish off your weekend with a High Tea at Merewether Surfhouse while enjoying a preview of the latest fashions thanks to GPT. Funds raised will support the Hunter Medical Research Institute.
