Newcastle, this is your weekend, my name is Renee, and i’m outside the Civic Theatre which will host the ‘Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase` this Friday. The line up features Luke Heggie, Nikki Britton, the Stevenson Experience and a heap more. The Cavalcade of comedians will leave you in stitches!
Also at the Civic Theatre this Sunday night Tina Arena will thrill audiences as she performs hits from her new album `Catalyst`. She will also perform her older hits which she will bring to life as they’ve never been seen before, information on the Civic Theatre Website.
And on Saturday Greyhound Australia will hold their first group walk in Newcastle! It is to raise awareness of this amazing breed. The walk will begin this Saturday at 10am at King Edward Park and will make it’s way, along Shortland Esplanade, through Newcastle East and will finish at Newcastle Beach. Larissa tells us why a Greyhound is such great pet to adopt.
“They are a very placid dog, they are a low energy dog, they are happy to spend most of the day lying around and sleeping so they are a fabulous pet.”
Thanks Larissa also on Saturday the Blue Gum Hills Parkrun will be held at Minmi, the 5km run loops around the Blue Gum Hills Regional Park where you can take in the stunning bushland and views of `Minmi Back Creek`, new runners should register at parkrun.com.au
Also this friday the internationally acclaimed Puppetry of the Penis will be held at New Lambton. The worldwide smash hit has performed in over 30 countries and is described as a non stop laugh fest by the Herald Sun.
And finally on Sunday celebrate this Fathers Day at Birdwood Park where there will be events for the whole family including a `Daddy Decathlon`, a `Side show alley`, a jumping castle, food stalls, amusement rides and lots more.
That’s it from me, I hope you have a great weekend and we’ll see you next time!
