Let’s cross to Nicole at Cessnock, Nic, what have you got for us.

The Big O, i’m talking 50 years since Roy Orbison brought out his classic hit Pretty Woman. And finally, this Saturday at the Civic Theatre in Newcastle, the Australian Youth Orchestra will perform Beethoven’s Erorica and Stravinsky’s masterpiece. This Australian Youth Orchestra has established itself as a cultural ambassador for Australia on twenty-one international tours since 1970. They will be joined by three internationally acclaimed guest artists, information at the Civic Theatre website.

That’s it from me, have a great weekend, it’s back to you Nicky. Thanks Nicole, well the excitement is building as the 2014 Real NRL finals begin this weekend as Central take on Cessnock at St Johns Oval this Saturday at 3pm. The action
continues on Sunday where Souths take on Macquarie at Townsend Oval, we asked Fordo and Butts who they are tipping to reach the finals.

I personally think Wests might be gone, I think they’ve got some issues over there with a bit of attitude, I’d like to see Souths v Macquarie just to mix it up a bit.

Yeah i’m probably thinking South Macquarie, I think now that coach Miller has flown the coop from Wests to Cessnock there is probably a few issues over there as Darren said and I think South v Macquarie will be a good grand final.

Thanks boys, checking the weather this weekend, in Newcastle it will be Windy with a shower or two on Saturday and a possible shower on Sunday, a top of 18 degrees in Newcastle and 20 in Cessnock. Good news for Singleton and Scone where it will be sunny a top of 21 degrees.

Now that’s it for your weekend, but before we go, we have 2 important events on during the week, firstly, on Thursday 28th August the Lunaticks Society will present `Smart Cities` which will explore the current urban renewal strategy to transform Newcastle into a smart and sustainable city, the event will be held at the Edwards Bar at Newcastle West. Go to lunatickssociety.com.au for more info.

And on Wednesday the 3rd of September the Australian institute of energy will be held at the CSIRO at Mayfield West. The event will explore the future of energy storage in Australia. More information is at aie.org.au
